ICQ rules, MSN sucks
Whats wrong with me? and What's wrong with the rest of the world for preferring msn over icq?
ICQ rules. MSN sucks.
In MSN, the stupid orange blinking thing appears at my taskbar and I have no control over it. Don't tell me its in the setting, I plough through it and cannot find a way to switch it off. It irritates the hell of me.
ICQ allows you to go invisible and chat with the whoever you please. In MSN, once you appear offline, you cannot chat. Don't tell me to block people blar blar, this would mean that if I want to use msn at home, I have to block out my whole office. Duh. Msn is legal in my office and the only reason why I use it, or even start to have contacts.
I hate the display pics in msn. I hate it when people put pictures of their children or cats in it. It is why I always switch the pictures off. But I do want to see the other nicer pictures, so switching it on and off is a hassle for me. I totally hate it when my colleague at work puts pics of her children, for goodness sake, her children are damn ugly and not the least bit cute. Children under 2 yrs of age are in general in some way cute, but hers are not. I squirm everytime she msgs me. I have since switched off the display pictures at work permanently. I know I am being slight mean in saying that her children are not cute, but trust me, that's how I feel.
I hate the way msn has nudges winks blar blar. Its like duh..for what. Needless to say, I switched off that function too.
I hate the way msn allows you to change your name. Hello, its like I have to remember everyone's email address to know who they are?
In ICQ, you can select a few files, do a right click and send via ICQ, in msn you are forced to send a file at a time. Dumb.
I like the layout of ICQ so much better. Much better.
Hate msn. Quit msn and install ICQ.

Xing Fu.
I bought new goggles plus a swim cap. I am so happy!
I had crabs and prawns for dinner too. In my younger cousin's words, I feel so xing fu now. *does cartwheels around my room*
Its amazing how little makes me darn happy. I love my new goggles. My old goggles are perfectly fine except that they are day goggles. I used to swim in sunlight then. Its those goggles with shiny film that keeps that glare out, those that allow you to ogle at guys without them knowing you are looking. My new goggles are clear, so clear you can see my eyes. Its for swimming after sunset which I do these days. With my old goggles, I could barely see anything. So happy. Bought a new swim cap too. So happy.
Crabs and prawns. I am not exactly a crab fan but I ate like one whole crab by myself. It was fun. The buttery prawns were heavenly too. Was at Melben Seafood at Blk 232 AMK St22. Go there instead of Jumbo, its cheaper.
You know what the best part is, my dad paid for my goggles and swim cap. Yeah. Now, staying home on Saturday does have it perks.
Home on a Saturday
Its a Saturday and I am not going out but going to join my parents for dinner. Its been eon since I did that.
I packed my wardrobe and room too. Actually all I did was to rearrange the clothes and throw away the stuff that cluttered my table. I have no idea how all this stuff came to me. I seldom buy anything.
My mum just bought 2 zen micros for my siblings. She asked if I wanted one too but I declined. Citibank was having this close door sale at Creative and I had to disappear from work 2 times within 2 hours to go swipe my card. I fiddled with it later and found that I kinda liked it.
Buy creative, forget about the fruit. Support local. After all, the fruit already has about 60% of market share. We bought 2 speakers too, the 3600 , it was going at 99. I think the retail price is almost 250. Dung took one and I have no idea where the one in my house is.
Anyone wants anything from creative next time, just ask me. All I have to do is to disappear from work and walk over. Don't expect me to queue up though. Talking about queue, I was surprised to see a queue at the doors at 11am. It opens at 11am. I went at 11am sharp thinking I would be the first one there, but there was already like 30 people ahead of me. Apparently, there were only a limited number of speakers going at 99. How do people get off work at 11am to join a q? I am sure not all of them work near Creative.
Blogging at 4pm on a Saturaday. Man, I do need to find a life.

My msns at work.
The first was with GJ.
Excerpt from his post
Me: SAF give free condom for my Taiwan trip....
Cindy: Issit? I heard its lousy, it breaks when filled with water...
Me: Issit? I dunno...
Cindy: Why dun you try it?
Me: Wif who?
Cindy: Ask you to fill it with water lah!!! Not use for sex!!!!
Me: ...
Do a replace all "Me" with "GJ"
He has a photo of his condoms there too. Some obsure brand I never knew.
The conversation proceeded on to along the likes of GJ thinking he has a little dick but good techniques. He refused to tell me what he meant by little dick and good techniques though. Does dick size matters? As SPG adeptly puts it, "I have never seen a 2.4 inch dildo"
Fastforward to chat with Al today. The chat resulted in him sending me his Karma Sutra over. All 8Mb of it.
He asked me, "What is it that a woman wants"
"To cum and cum and cum and cum, without having to do any work on the guy." - my reply.
He must have fallen off his chair then because it took him like 10 mins to reply back. It was the most straightforward answer he heard.
I always think that a guy only does what he does so that he can peak. I know there will be plenty of rebuttals but if you think again, its essentially true. How many guys will time and time again go down on a girl without wanting any sexual favours in return?
Al thinks its a two way street. I agree but I do know more horny guys than girls. In fact, all the guys I know are horny with the exception of one. Long story about that lone one.
Anyway, sex is too cheem a topic to discuss about. I will just land up going around in circles. I can feel it coming. Will stop now.
> Dancingpris - will try to take a photo of it. I just wore it so its somewhere aroudn now. My bro thought I was attending a malay wedding when he saw me go out. My mum exclaimed , ' wah..why you were ah pu nei clothes". Dung says its ok because he is peranakan. I think I might not wear it to a wedding afterall, but just to plays and musicals.

Back in my country!
Hanoi on the whole was alright really. Minus that resident mosquito that made sleep so uncomfortable. The stupidest thing was that we only found the mosquito net on our last night there and really only had one good night's sleep. Why would pampered Singaporeans expect to use a mosquito net? It is the first time in my life I slept in a mossy net. Strange experience.
I have a slightly aching right arm now. That is after having to lug two laptops and many other equipment up and down three stories everyday. Yes, the hotel had no lift. It is a family run business really. They were so concerned about saving money that they switched off the mains to the water heater when we were gone one day, resulting in us bathing in icy cold water. When I say icy cold water, I mean ICE COLD water. Its not that cold water you get at public showers, its really ICE COLD. Considering the ambient temperature was like 20 degrees, the water was freezing at night. It took me 5 mins to creep into the shower, 2 mins to shower and get out. I didn't feel very clean after that though.
Besides that, Hanoi is really not bad place. Things are not as cheap as in Bangkok though. The people in Hanoi adopt a very different attitude towards bargaining, in BKK, they entertain you and want to sell you when you bargain. In Hanoi, they simply take the item back from you and hang it back up in the display.
Managed to tour around Hanoi a little, not as much as I wanted to because we had to work too.
Its a good place for a budget trip really. My Tiger Airway tickets were just about $150, minus the USD18 airport tax. I almost had no more money to pay for the tax and could not get out of Hanoi. Luckily, I still had SGD50 with me and had to exchange it to Dong.
Tiger Airways is not too bad too, when it is less than half full that is. The flight was so empty, one could just lie flat on three seats.
I cannot imagine how it will be like when its packed.
That's it for now. Am going to watch Sound of Music later.
I think I will wear my modified Ao Dai there. Ao Dai is the traditional Vietnamese dress, long blouse with pants. I tailored made 3 dresses but no one wears long blouse in sg, so I made them into tubes. Hahhah, the tailor gave me this dirty look when I gestured to her I wanted tubes.

With love from Hanoi
Hanoi is not as rustic and as old as you see in postcards, televion etc. Its like sg in the 70s.
The roads are just swarmed with so many motobikes, they look like swarms of bees. The motobikes horn relentlessly, and they ride on either side of the road, regardless of road direction.
To cross the road, you have to behave like a chicken. Just say a quick prayer and dash across the road. Good thing is, humans and bikes seem to command the same amount of authority on the roads. The motobikes just weave around you. For someone as urban as me, it can get a tad bit scary. However, I am proud to say that I have mastered the skill of being an errant roadcrosser.
Things here are not as cheap as they should be. Somone tried to sell me the pirated copy of life of pi for USD8. I told him I can get the original copy for SGD5 back home. He followed me down the 2 streets and offered USD2 in the end. I didn't buy because by then I was getting too afraid of him and just want to go away. I belived I could have bought it for USD1 if I persisted.
You can never miss a Singaporean by the way he/she drives a hard bargain. The moment I start bargaining, they go , "from singapore?"
I tailored made 3 dresses, going to collect them tomorrow. I hope they turn out fine and will last me through all the weddings I have to go to this year.
So far so good here, its really too dusty. I broke up in mini-hives. Thankfully, I bought Zyrtec and it has been working fine.
Tradeshow is starting tomorrow, have to stand the whole day and try to speak to the Vietnamese. Talking to them is like a chicken talking to a duck. Its terrible.
I miss sg. I so want to be back.

The price of water.
When I was young, I swam at my dad's company club. I go there to swim everyweek. Years later, the company was not doing well and they sold the place. A church bought it over and uses its facilities now. I do not like the church. It robbed me of my swimming place.
It didn't really matter that much then because I was swimming in the varsity pool then. I went every other day and swam my hearts out.
When I started working, I went back to swim. No one stopped me because no one checked my matriculation card. Then, Sars swept the whole country and contact tracing became the necessary. I could no longer enter the pool because my matric card shows that I have graduated.
I have resorted going to public pools then. I hate the public pool. It is dirty, smelly, slimy and salty. The toilets have a permanent urea smell too.
There is a pool near my office. It is 3/4 the length of the Olympic size pool. I have refused to swim in pools of any other length besides the standard 50m, it makes doing laps much more fulfilling. It is also empty, clean and has nice toilets. The only catch is that it will cost me $388 for a year usage. Solely pool usage, gym facilities are not included. I was tempted since the first day I started work 2 years ago but I threw it out of my mind as it was pricey.
Two years on, I simply cannot stand public pools and am growing fat. However, I still find it expensive just that I am more willing to fork out the money.
I am in a dilemma.
Everyone tells me its expensive water. Some tells me that I should not look at it this way because lifestyle cannot be measured by money. Others tell me its about the same price as a musical ticket that I pay. Most tell me its expensive.
I am willing to pay $200 for half a year usage because I do not want to commit so much money, but the gym is unwilling to compromise.
Sigh.
How?
I know people will tell me the standard things - "Its expensive". I feel that too, but I really love swimming.
How?

My weekend
I went had a fabulous seafood dinner on Friday. I ate like 5 crab pincers and a whole lot of other stuff. It was fatanbulous. I went Indochine afterwards. It was my first time there. I always dissed the place as tacky because of the nemo layout and how people seem to be crowding outsider leeching free music.
So, I went into Indochine. There was really nothing there except that the washareas in the toilet were unique. There is no sink. You step on this black rubber dot on the floor to turn the water on, the water then flows onto this slopping piece of plastic and is drained away. Cool. Besides that, Indochine is so not happening. It didn't help that I was in my work clothes aka scrappy jeans and T-shirt. To wear a T-shirt to a club is a felony.
I also managed to go to a wedding, both church and lunch and watch 2 movies this weekend!.
It was simply great. Although once again, I wished I did not have to go to work tomorrow.
So long.

Good Friday Weekend
I had a great Friday followed by an uneventful Saturday, and am now dreading the coming work week. There are no p.hols in April!!!
Things I did the past two days.
- I watched 2 movies in less than 24hrs. I am so proud of myself. It is something I have not done since my teeny bopper days. These days, I somewhat prefer watching a dvd on a cosy bed than with 300 strangers. Plus point, as in my earlier post, it is possible to hump while watching a dvd, but that totally misses the point.
- I got nauseous while playing xbox. I seriously suck at xbox games. Was playing Starwars: Knights of the old Republic, all that maneuvering with the light saber while trying to navigate made me feel like puking. I hate 3-D games. Why can't all games be simple like super Mario or bubble puzzle. You only need a joystick for direction and another button to fire. These days, there are 2 joysticks on the controller and a million other buttons. Please, my hand is only that big. But I resolve to get better at these games. I love racing games though.
- I slept the whole of Saturday and still have dark eye bags. I seriously wonder why.
- I ate half a tub of Phish Food. I love Phish Food. I like the strawberry with graham swirls too. I believe its called Primary Berry Graham. I love their new flavours.
- I finally used another $20 of my Robinson vouchers. I had $50 to start with, I sold $20 to a colleague. My stuff cost $16 and I paid with my $20 voucher. They actually refunded the difference to me in cash. So happy. Another $10 to go. I hate Robinson vouchers. It is so out of the way and there is absolutely nothing to buy there. Too bad, my frumpy office manager loves Robinson and as a result, all of us gets Robinson vouchers on our birthdays.
- I finally used $10 of my Metro voucher. Metro vouchers have no expiry dates, you just use and they print another voucher with the difference to you. Its like a stored value card. The voucher has been with me so long, I do not even remembered how I got it. The last time I used it was like a year ago. I have another $5 left.
In short, I am quite happy this weekend. My only grouse is that it has to end and I can feel myself being sucked back into the whirlwind of work.

Guys that put me off.
The strange thing is I only knew of it when my uncle sms me, rebuking me for showing more concern over explosives than my sister. wtf. This reminds me why I do not like my relatives. What right do they have to reprimand me? This uncle is one of my most preferred uncles too.
Later, my cousin icqed me, he claimed I was boliao. I just do not understand. Why do some people do nothing about anything but just whine about everything? They adopt the i-will-wait-for-gold-to-drop attitude and in the meanwhile complain that they are powerless to do anything.
Granted, some things like building a casino are largely beyond our control and the 'elite' make the final decision. Most other things, we should not be afraid or be lazy to voice out.
Guys like this simply put me off. There are some guys who are nonchalant to the state of affairs around them, they choose their lifestyle and that is fine with me. Those that pissed me off are those who do nothing and complain the whole day. In short, these are the guys who often lament that National Service is waste of time because Singapore will perish with a bomb. Guys who cling to this belief are short-sighted and shallow. War is no longer fight this way. We should not even be allowing the missile to head our direction. I have never been to the army, so I will stop short at this topic.
I hope I am not sounding too pro-pap. I am not pro-pap although it is undeniable what the government has done. Anyone who can do a better job and not do a Chee Soon Juan gets my vote.

...
He works too long hours and is forever tired. That will and always be my complaint.
Today's a little different. I saw a really pretty skirt while shopping yesterday. Seldom do some cloth item catch my attention. I would have bought it if it were half the price, or lesser actually. Too bad it was pricey, so I gave it a miss.
I told Dang about it though and he commented that I should have bought it. I told him it was too pricey. He mentioned something about me buying the skirt and he will pay for it. Some girls might gleefully jump at the chance and purchased the skirt but I hate arrangements like this. It makes me feel like I am begging him for money. It was not as if I couldn't afford to pay for it, it was just that I felt it was too pricey. I told him outright that I still had my pride. It would be a different story if he got it as a gift for me. He then went along the lines of going with me to the shop and he will pay for it. Goodness, isn't it the same?
Nevertheless, we passed by the shop today and I showed him the skirt. Yes, Singapore is that small that you go to the same places in two consecutive days. We went in and he agreed with me on the good material. He asked me if I were buying and I said no. I asked if he would like me to try the skirt on for him to see and he said in this somewhat sarcastic tone, "What for, you are not buying". I think my mood took a 180 degree swing but I didn't let it show. He went on rambling about how he would buy it if he were me because it's hard to find something nice. By then, I wasn't really listening to him. I suddenly felt totally alienated from him.
Reading ym's post really makes me go yesyesyes and agreeing with her everypoint. Gosh, its really hard to splurge on yourself and save at the same time. I never underestimate saving because I think it is really important. But then, it just makes enjoying yourself feel so much more guilty. I wonder how our parents did it really.
There are so many different kind of people in the world
The Paris Hiltons
The concept of expensive does not apply here. These people buy without looking at the price tags. They just bring whatever they fancy to the cashier.
Those earning a decent amount and spending it all
A lot of people I know are like this. They do not earn too much, its decent enough to get by, but they do not batter an eyelid when they purchase stuff. If I fell into this category, I would have bought the skirt.
Those earning a decent amount but cautious about spending.
I think I fall into this category, I would think most of my frens do as well. Afterall, we know we have a long way ahead of us and that no one is going to leave us any inheritance. The future scares this group of people.
Those earning barely enough and spending it all.
One word. Malays.
Those earning barely enough and cautious about spending.
IMHO, these are the people who get it bad. It is really tiring having to watch every penny.
Sigh, I think I am getting depressed.

Manslaves needed!
I was in town at 4pm yesterday!!! It was a wonderful feeling, has been eons since I appeared in town at 4pm on a weekday. Most of the time, I would be mulling in front of my computer at work watching the little clock at the bottom right of the screen. The sun was scorching but it didn't even matter.
We groomed ourselves, bought stuff and were dead beat at the end of the day. My ankles were hurting. It is strange because that's the only part of my lower limps that ever ache all these years. It felt as if my bones were hitting the floor and I feel this way even if I were wearing my Timberland's walking shoes. Ym had to lug her heavy bag around. Her bag is really heavy, I would be exhausted if I were her. That is why, we need manslaves.
In fact, every girl should be provided with a manslave when she shops. Shopping centers should provide a manslave to every girl. His job would be to carry her purchases, her bags, water (so heavy cos its 1l=1kg) , follow her around dutifully and smile. Simple job isn't it. Pay a premium and manslave will drive you home too.
The best way to shop is to get out really early, like 11am, and shop when the crowds are at work. At about 3pm, you can go for your spas, manicures, pedicures, eyebrows, and whatever. Have dinner at about 6pm and watch a 7pm movie. It will end nicely at 9pm, leaving you ample time to get back home and avoiding rush-home traffic at the same time. This way, one would not be exhausted at having to cover so much ground in so little time.
I am dreaming, ain't I?
Whatever, I decided I will wear my little green skirt out later, as soon as I find a matching top for it.

Hungry Hippo
I was exceptionally hungry today. I woke up and while I was brushing my teeth, I could hear my stomach growling. I think its a combination of my empty stomach and bowels. I usually am not hungry if I can full of crap inside. I was so hungry today I polished my plate of fish ball mee pok. For a moment, I imagined myself to be a horse with not enough food filling my four stomachs. Like what I do every morning, I ate a slice of bak kwa immediately after my breakfast.
By noon, I was starving again. I had a big bowl of home cooked noodles jia liao somemore. Disgusting. I always wondered why they call it home cooked noodles when its not home cooked. There is no difference between home cooked noodles and fish ball noodles and prawn noodles. I topped it off with a Kit Kat bar too. I scavenge for something sweet after every meal. In the morning, its bak kwa. Afternoon its Kit Kat. Evening its Ghirardelli Chocolates. I call it, riding my mouth of the food taste. It doesn't really make sense but whatever.
I ate more than I was supposed to eat for dinner again. I drank fish soup meant for 2 persons and I had like 6 pieces of nioang hiang. The Ghirardelli chocolate too of course. Its dark chocolate today.
Finally, as in to mock me. I had a terrible stomach ache at 10pm. It was as if to punish me for eating so much. I had to run to toilet 3 times while writing this.

My fingers stink.
It boasts to have AHA, be able to preserve nail strength and prevent splitting. That is what it advertises on the bottle.
It is outrageous.
I been trying to wash my fingers with strongly scented soap to rid the vinegar smell but my fingers still stink. Gross.
Am going to watch Team America tomorrow. Yeah.

What happends on a weekday evening?
Do you continue working? I know a lot of people who bring work home or rabidly check their work emails.
Do you watch tv? What is there to watch anyway? Besides Desparate housewives or housewife (I am clueless), which I try to religiously watch, there is almost nothing on tv.
Do you sleep? Sleep will only make the next work day arrive sooner.
Do you go out with friends? Its getting harder and harder for everyone to agree on a time to meet.
All I want to do on a weekday evening, is to lounge and laze on bed naked and maybe hump like jackrabbits, and watch a dvd at the same time.
I miss school.

I'm back! I'm back!
I have been to Austin, SFO and back. It feels fantastic to be home, although the heat is almost unbearable these days. What's wrong with the planet.
I jumped from a 10 degrees in SFO to a sweltering 33 degrees here. I am almost melting.
SFO is a nice place, but its too touristy. Everyone is holding a map walking around in this overly excited face. It kinda reminded me a bit of the beach front at Patpong, Phuket, before the Tsunami that is. I took tons of photos. Somewhat in the magnitude of 1G. I took like 500 photos and because I had to use the highest quality standard for every shot, each photo was close to 2M each. Fantastic. Now, to develop the photos or not. I need my own printing facility!
I made two friends in SFO. A Hongki and a Shanghainese. John and Stephen. My colleague is convinced that John has a crush on me but I deny vehemently.I have to admit though that I was flirting with John sometimes. Anyway I will never like a guy who squirms about in a Victoria Secret Shop. Yes, we dragged both guys into a VS lingerie shop, Stephen was surprising open. I was expecting all mainland guys to be absolutely conservative. Bad stereotype but how can you blame me. I actually managed to persuade Stephen to buy a pair of undies for his girlfriend. It was 5 for $20 and I could only find myself 4 pairs.
He eventually settled for a simple white number with a pink band. He was absolutely terrified at the idea of buying her a thong. Nevertheless, I found the gesture extremely sweet. Mind you, his gf is only 18. Pedophile. I had it specially packaged for him in a pink wrapper and pink bag.
John on the other hand was trying very hard to make himself invisible in the shop. The only reason why he stood in the shop instead of outside was because he was cold. It was like 8 degrees outside and John was freezing. It was much warmer inside the shop.
John later insisted on eating Italian food for dinner. I found it strange that he wanted to eat Italian food in America. We settled for some pasta place and the guys did not know how to order. We Singaporeans are a lucky bunch. I had to give them a crash course on the different type of pastas and Italian sauces. Eventually, I gave up and ordered for them. Hhahah. The food was mediocre but the guys thought it was fantastic. We get much better pasta here.
My mandarin improved tremendously while I was in SFO. Ironical isn't it. I spoke nothing but Mandarin to them.
Anyhow, I want to go to Taipei next. Tickets on Jetstar asia are going for $68.

Happy CNY!!
Its the third day of the cock year and I am not working. Methinks half the population is not working, and half of the population who is working is skiving at work. Of course, there are some with no choice and have to work.
So, I survived the new year, it was a tumultuous start really. As with every new year. I collected less Ang Bao money because my grandmother went senile and absent-mindedly gave us the $4 Ang Bao packets meant for the generic all, instead of the special $40 grandchildren Ang Bao packets. But seriously, I do not care much for the money, feels good to receive it but its nothing really.
I still have 4 more dinners to eat at my uncles' place. That would take me 2 more weekends.
Dung is bugging me to visit his relatives, he says he is getting tired of brewing up reasons to explain my absent. I have told him to tell his pesky relatives that I am Indian. Cock. I am not even obligated to visit them and because of that, the harder I will try not to visit them. I hate being forced.

Dung wore this for CNY. Nice?

I hate cabs.
Give me $10 to take a cab, and I will sit take public transport there and keep the $10. Unless the journey is really too far. I find it really sinful to take a cab. I do not know why, its not as if I scrimp on other things as well. My logic has always been, it will take me $2 on public transport but 5 times the amount on a cab. Its not as if I cannot afford to leave my house a little earlier to save on extra traveling time. This is unless I get bus sick, which I get all the time. Its just strange, I cannot bring myself to flag a cab.
However, since I started working, I been taking cabs more often. Mostly after 8pm because my company pays for it. This is different, its not like they give me the money and I can pocket it as I do not take a cab. I claim when I take a cab, so since its paid for, I will be a dumbass if I do not take a cab. My logic is that I help the economy. The cab fare helps pay for the cabby family needs. He has money to buy more things, which create jobs for more people. The best thing about it is the company eventually comes from America and is not mine.
Today I wanted to take a cab home. This was one of my rarest cab moments. I walked from Lucky plaza to Far East Plaza but both queue were too long, so I crossed the road to Shaw center but could not get a cab either. I radioed for a cab, it took me 15 minutes before the machine gave me a cab, for 15 minutes it was the "I'm sorry, We are unable to locate a cab". I was cursing and swearing and kicking myself in the ass for not taking public transport. Plus, it was 9.30pm and I had not had dinner. Never mess with a hungry woman.
I remembered the last time I took a cab, it was the same experience. In short, I hate cabs.

I caught a lizard!
I know this photo with make Miss Leow scream and send a shiver down her spine.
I love catching lizards and no I am not a psycho. No pun intended *wink*
When I was in secondary school and in the midst of doing sewing for home economics homework, this big fat lizard prance up and down my brown paper. I got so irritated I took the pin I was holding and jabbed it right through its rubbery skin. It was an experience.
It was also the first time I understood what they truly meant by cold-blooded creatures. The lizard was rubbery and so cold.
Yesterday lizard courted death by first appearing by my bed. I cannot have a lizard crawling over me when I sleep. I tried to catch it but missed. I grudgingly went to spring pack my clothes. Just as I was done, the lizard appeared again. Now, I cannot have it near my nicely packed clothes. No way. If it appeared in the toilet, I would be less interested in catching it. But no, it had to appear in all the wrong places.
On a less gruesome note, I bought a set of clothes today. So happy.

To the Forum
>>
I am disturbed by the sight of big black trash bags lining our roads. I supposed our cleaners rake up all the dry leaves, pack them in the trash bags and leave it by the side of the road for the trucks to collect.
The threat of terrorism is real and we have been encouraged again and again by authorities to report of any suspicious objects lying around.
I cannot help but wonder in fear what if instead of dead leaves, the bags were laden with explosives.
In recent bombings around the region, a single car bomb ruined the lives of many. Along a 50m stretch of our roads, there can be as many as 10 bags lining the road. I shudder as I envisage the devastation.
Leaving these trash bags along our roads contradicts our terrorisms prevention measures. I am imploring the relevant authorities to look into this issue. It is unnecessary to make ourselves vulnerable to terrorism.

Haha, I actually wrote to the forum. Well after all, PM MM Lee wants citizens who are vocal and take an active interest in the countries welfare.
I was on my way today, and like a jolt of lightning outta nowhere, I tried to receite the plege in my mind. The last time I said the pledge was during assembly in JC, which was eons ago. I was ahgast that I actually forgot the pledge and it took me a few times to get it correct.
Its my country, my pledge. I should always be able to receite it. Yes, I am that patriotic.
Now, how many of you know the chinese version of the pledge? I do. lalala.

On Government Service
I panicked. I thought I owed them money, or like finally after a decade , they decided they gave me the wrong PSLE score or something.
Girls usually are not on Government Service.
I opened my letter and saw that I was on government service because I am not married. SDU sent me their revamped membership card, its good till next January. Woohoo.. I am so excited. Yeah right.
Come to think of it, the last time I received a government service letter is when SDU sent me my first membership card. Its a waste of money really. They print on very good quality paper. Its not the usual paper that you get all your bills. The SDU paper is thicker, probably whiter too. No wonder everyone grumbles when they pay tax.
Oh, SDU sends this regular newsletter too. Its published by Mediacorp I think. Its really crappy. Good places to go on first dates include parks. Yucks, I will never want to meet the guy again if he brings me to a park for a first date. I would think most girls think the same way too. Parks are boring unless you blade. SDU didn't suggest that, it merely states to walk around in the park. The park refers to parks like Kent Ridge Park, Bishan Park yadar yadar, not ECP or WCP.
Remember, to get married is to do Government Service.

Shit.
I sent my pants to alter, sent my shoes for repair, got the part number that I wanted. I only forgot to go to the library because it slipped my mind but mostly because Orchard was too crowded and I was getting squashed so I scurried to my safe hole - the MRT station back home.
Pt aside, I wanted to blog about my msn conversation with Emily yesterday.
The topic was Shit.
Question: Does your shit float or sink?
I noticed my shit used to float, recently it has been sinking. Emily's shit sinks and floats occasionally. We concluded that her shit is more compact than mine. Air floats what. Splattering shit is the best cos it creates the most wonderful design on the otherwise pristine white towel bowl. Personally, I love splattering lao sai shit best.
I also learnt that Emily has to wash her butt after she shits, so when she is outside, she wets toilet paper, stuff them in her butt crack and uses the butt cheek to squeeze. And, I thought I was the weird one.
We then discussed about the different peeing sounds. When you are a lot to release, the peeing sound can sometimes become squeaky. When guys pee, there is the pee, then a break, before the final pee. Dung calls it emptying it all. I think its like the peristaltic motion when they cum. In waves.
One of my biggest fantasy is to walk in with a super soaker when Dung pees or shit. Shit is better, cos its harder to shop shitting and retaliate.

I just put my curtains to wash. Its the pre CNY spring chicken cleaning thingy. I love my curtains. They are not the boring pale colours. My curtain is bright, with cartoon characters on them. I love bright colours. This explains why my bedsheet is mostly orange with Goofy all over it.
I am going to cut my hair tomorrow.
I am half decided if I should pluck my eyebrows. I am terrified of plucking eyebrows because it seems to me that every eyebrown stylist mission is to pluck everything into one thin line.
I need to alter my pants too. My pants are like 4 inches too long, and already I think my legs are not short.
Tuesday.....

Too pricey?
I have been looking for nice frames. I decided that I needed a pair of specs to wear just in case my contact lenses fail me. My eyes have been getting more n more irritated with my lenses these day. Its either oozing shit, or I have one dry eye, one pain eye.
Anyhow, I saw this really nice red frames today. Should have taken a photo of it but I think optician will probably bash me if I do so.
Its really nice. I tried other frames too, somehow the rest just do not cut it.
But spending so much on a frame is sinful. Perhaps, it was because I saw it in Paris Miki, I am sure they overprice items. Maybe, it will be cheaper in a neighborhood store, but I doubt so.
On a happier note, I bought a purple top. I initially wanted pink but they ran out of pinks.
I bought a blue top too. Plus a maroons top.
Yeah, my CNY shopping is halfway done. Now, I just need to match the stuff that I bought.

The Vinny
Its like their ying yang is not balanced and a dark cloud forever looms above their heads.
Its disgusting really, irritating first then disgusting.
Lets talk about Vinny. I am not afraid to using his name will jeopardize our friendship because he doesn't know this url and he once told me blatantly in my face, "I have no time to read other people's crap"
Vinny is depressing. He is all negative.
Vinny is forever late when we meet up. He acts as if he owns the time, and he chooses whenever he wants to arrive. I understand that some people have really busy schedules and have no choice. Vinny is no where that busy, in fact, I suspect he spends most of his time cooped up in a miserable Lab. He arrives late, makes no warning and appears. He lurks around trying to find us after we shift to another location. Call us duh! But no, he takes great pride in locating us. Duh.
He has nothing good to say about anything. My boss once told me ,"If you have nothing good to say, shut up.". Vinny would be a mute then. He is forever mulling over some fact. When all of us are merrymaking, he always have to pour the cold water. Plus, it says depressing things in a totally dead pan voice with a face that you just want to smash against the wall.
Vinny stinks. I think he re-wears clothes too often or he just scrimps on soap.
I can go on and on..but I should stop because afterall, Vinny has been nice to me. He takes all my bantering without screaming back at me. He has told me some stuff he doesn't go around telling the whole world. He is really fine. He only flaw is that he mulls and mulls.
However, Vinny has recently been on a different frequency way too often. He talks to you thinking you are yoda. He thinks you automatically understand the context and content of his mulling, without giving specifics. You have to think ahead when he speak to you. Please, Yoda I am not.
Today, he pissed me off again.
I am leaving for Mersing tomorrow and we have asked him to come again. He eagerly agreed at first thinking I was some other girl. When he found out that he was speaking to the wrong girl, his horse face sunk to the ground. He is still going because I suaned him crudely and loudly over dinner at Tiong Sang Porridge. Now, he is being a prick and complaining that he doesn't have details, which is strange because none of my other friends complain. Oh yes, we been to the same Mersing place 10 millions times. What details do you want???
He is behaving like the period guy - suffering from pms.
Anyhow, I will simmer down, ignore him and eagerly await tomorrow.
Clear skies!!
Edit: I wrote this because Vinny pissed me off again. But seriously, he is not that vile. He does have his good points. When I am feeling delirously happy, I will elaborate.

There you go...
Ok, I promised Guybrush that I would blog today.
So here its goes, its 3.30pm and I am at work now. The office is so quiet because half of them have gone to Msia for an event.
I am left with 3 guys, none of which are eyecandy. Let me describe them,.
Guy no 1, lets call him Kng. He is short, darn short, I think 1.65m. I look taller beside him, of course in my heels. He spikes his hair up, its supposed to be cool but it makes him look dirty. Talking about hygiene, he behaves like a dog. He is forever scratching himself unconsciously. There is this secret wink among the girls whenever he does his doggy moves. I always think that he wears shirts that are longer than his body length, as such, it makes him look shorter. Thank goodness, he is rather competent at his work. As a colleague, he is fine. As a person, I don't think I like him that much. As potential bf material, nah, I will never recommend him to any of my gfs. You paint the picture yourself.
Guy no 2,lets call him PK. PK stands for Pai Kia. He changes his wallpaper 3 times a day. Its always those Dragon ball looking characters. He was stopped at the causeway once to go for urine test, because the police thought he was on drugs. He had his driver license revoked because he was speeding at 150km/h in his probation year. He claims he was tailgating and did not realise the speed. I think its crap. I suspect he smokes because there is that awful stench but he claims otherwise. He has just joined for a week, I hope he turns out fine. So far he is ok, except that he stutters on the phone and sounds like he wants to bash you up.
Guy no 3. lets call him Pigeon. His name rhymes with Pigeon. He is stoned. He keeps the ear piece in his ear even when he is not on the phone. In fact, he is hardly on the phone. I caught some quiz paper on his table ,"Who said what." and he filled up the answers. Very free eh. Sigh.
Its now 5.54pm. Ploughed through today. No, I did not take 2 hours to blog, I was distracted.
The good news is, I will be going Mersing to stargaze soon. Yeah. I am deliriously happy. The others are interested too yeah!
Also, I might be going Austin. Cool. Tataz

Scary Movies
It was one of those, the ghost was maligned when she was alive, so the angry and fury ghost goes around killing people, and will only stop when she is appeased. You know, much overused plot.
So, I decided to watch a little. I have for the longest time refused to watch any shows with ghosts/vampires/spirits in it.
Simple reason: I am scared.
It all started when I was little. I used to fall asleep in bed without needing a blanket. One day I watched "Ghost pull Leg (Gui La Jiao)", I got so horribly scared, I covered myself in blanket when I slept that night. I remembered I was perspiring profusely but I still refused to come out from beneath the sheets, as a result, I came down with fever the next day. How pathetic.
The fear stuck on. I still refuse to watch horror shows. I do not see the point of paying to scare myself.
Yesterday, I decided to watch that ghost show on tv. I braved through the first 5 minutes. That was all my gentle heart could take. After that, I immediately switched channels whenever something scary is about to happen. I hate sitting on my chair in apprehension as I watched.
10 minutes later, I decided I had enough and switched the TV off.
Mind you, I would think most people wouldn't even find it that scary. After all, how scary can a show made in the eighties/early nineties be.
I just couldn't stomach it. Me is a scary cat.

First Work Day
I cannot stand it when people schedule meetings at 530pm.
530 is after 9 blardy hours of work.
530 is when people go home.
530 is when you get hungry and want to eat dinner.
But, no, some nincompoop has to schedule meetings at 530pm. My boss doesn't even do such things.
It is too presumptuous to assume that I want to work after 530pm. What about those people who have children to return to?
I mean, I do not mind working after 530pm, but it is so not right to assume that I will work after 530pm.
So, my meeting ended at 745pm. You thought that was the end of the day, fat chance?
Another colleague comes and says he wants something done. He does not say exactly when, but says he has to pass it to a customer tomorrow. Duh, obviously it was to be done today.
So, you start your task at 8pm. Mind you, this is no simple feat. Try taking your competitors specifications, strip them down, configure your system and do a point to point comparison. Complete it with diagrams and sketches too. Its almost like writing a product specs sheet myself. Mind you, certain technical details take time to comprehend. Dodo me did not have my scientific calculator with me, so I was reduced to the calculator in windows to do most functions.
I should stop whining. New year. New Start.

Almost 2005
We were seated just next to the dj console and had the music full blast. It was way too loud. So loud it made screams inaudible.
Took tons of photos there. Am not going to show any cos I do not think my friends fancy their pictures online.
The last time I went up Swissotel, it was Westin Stamford and it was Compass Rose. I remembered we went in by the back door, through the kitchen because we took the wrong lift up. We drank some merlion drink and stole like 2 merlion figurines, 2 Westin Stamford figurines back home. I have one Merlion at home. I think Sam has one, Ben has one, and either Mingli or Emily has the other. It was hilarious. The waiters were supposed to give us brand new figurines to bring home, but we conveniently put into our bags the figurines that we drank from as well.
Those were the days. Think we were only eighteen then.
Yeah, New Year Eve's tomorrow, or rather today as its 3am now.
May the New Year bring on better things, and still, may Weiqiang be found.

Still missing
I known him since I was 10. That's a long way back. Now the only thing I can do is to post his information on any online list, forums I can find. I am not sure if it will help, but at least its better than sitting back and doing nothing.
It is really hard to find any information online, the sg govt provides very scanty information about Singaporean victims. You would have to go to Thai sites to learn more, then again, none of us can read Thai.
I read reports after reports of the disaster. Its getting a bit of an OD. Its a mess everywhere.
I donated via dbs online banking. However, I have this feeling that my money will be used to defray administrative costs instead of reaching to the victims. This is why I have decided to buy a $10 food packet when I get to NTUC too. It hard to imagine that $10 is nothing to me, but it means a lot to others. All I have to do is to skip a meal or two, take the bus instead of cab, and that's my $10.
Note: Those of you who wants to donate via dbs online banking. Please make payment to "Red Cross Tidal Waves Asia". The consumer reference number is your contact number. You can also donate at ATMs.

Tsunami Waves
I first heard news of the tsunami when I was speaking to Yumi. I went Phuket and Phi Phi Island with him years ago. He told me, " eh, remembered the chalets we stayed in? Now they are water chalets." I immediately dismissed him and he had to convinced me it was news.
Blame it on the fact that there was no newspapers on boxing day and I had not watched any tv as usual.
I felt this pang of grief immediately. I felt almost nothing when there was a bomb blast in Madrid. I have never been to Madrid. I didn't know how it looked like there. I couldn't visualized the extend of damage.
This is different. I have been to Phuket, walked the streets of Patpong , snorkeled at Phi Phi Island. Everything felt so near. It might sound a bit irrelavant, but it could have been me if the waves came earlier. They say, you have to be in the right time, right place. In this case, wrong time, wrong place. I met 50% of the criterion.
I immediately emailed Pat to make sure she was ok too. She goes to Phuket often for work. Thank goodness she replied my email and is safely in BKK.
I really really hope that Weiqiang is safe and sound.

The Wedding
In short, I was the plus one. On the wedding invite, it was written "Dung and partner". I am that insignificant. Would it actually be so much trouble to find out my name??
I decided if I have to invite them to my wedding, the invite will be "Groom and partner". Fark.
That's beside the point. Why does everyone have to wear nice dresses to weddings?? My dresses are either too informal or way too short for weddings. I need a nice dress. But then, I think I need more than one nice dress because I cannot possibly wear the same thing to every weddings because you meet the same people every wedding. Crap.
I wore a tube and denim to the wedding today and I looked like I was going to zouk instead of going to a wedding. Whatever. Thankfully I think I have no more weddings to go to this year. I think the next wedding I would have to attend will be in May.
This brings me to another point, Why is everyone getting married!!!! *grits teeth*
Today, the bride and groom looked as if they were a JC couple instead. The groom is not too tall and the bride is short. I think she is less than 155cm. They look juvenile. The only other couple I think looks juvenile is Emily and her Nan.
At all the weddings that I attend this year, I have always been the plus one. When are my friends getting married? They should, so at least I know the wedding couple and more people at the table.

One more day
This would be my first break since I started to work. I cannot understand why my friends get so many leave days but its so hard to take leave at my crappy workplace. When you go on leave, the world looks at you like you are not doing any work. I do not have to go out of the country to take leave. I believe I can take leave because I do not want to work.
This brings me to another point, why is it that everytime you go on leave, or come back after the weekend , people ask you
"So where did you go yesterday/during the weekend?"
Why does everyone assume that you have to go somewhere??? When you politely tell them you stayed at home and did nothing, they look at you as if you have no life. Its like adding salt to the wound. People who stay at home do not want to be reminded they stayed at home. Crap
I resolve not to ask anyone the question, I will ask "Had a good weekend/ leave?" if I really have to make small talk.

Its coming!!!
I got msgs from Chippy (very irritating guy) and Qes (another very irritating guy) wishing me Happy Birthday. Both Chippy and Qes are friends and are in the Air Force. Both Chippy and Qes both think each other are irritating. Anyhow, Qes merely typed "Happy Birthday". Its not my birthday yet!! Be more sincere, put IN ADVANCE. But then, I should not be so demanding.
Yumi smsed me Happy Birthday too. and in advance. He is going somewhere and will be unable to wish me on the actual day. Yeah.
Last year I switched off my ICQ Birthday notice and no one remembered my birthday!! I felt it was pointless to have people whom I am not close to wish me happy birthday because ICQ told them to.
This year, I cannot care less. Yeah, I'm getting older!

All Red and Ugly
BUT I now have swollen elbows and knees!!!
I had an allergic reaction to the medication. I broke out in mini rash all over my joints. You can see specks of blood just under my skin around my elbow and knees. I look terrible. My tights and knees looks as if you have applied char siew sauce to it. Worse still, I can't walk because its painful on my knees. Argk. I feel like Michelin baby.
I went back to the doctor in search for a cure but you know what, the doctor went on vacation. Are they even allowed to do that? Feed their patients some stupid cocktail of drugs so that they break out in rash and have to go back to you, and you conveniently forget about your money making scheme and go on holiday? Pui! I forgot to mention my doctor drives a Volvo Convertible too. GPs, do they really earn that much?
Then again, they should. Afterall, he charged me $44, a total rip off.
I keep staring at my ugly elbows and knees. I keep touching them too. The spots are actually very warm. Its like an exothermic reaction. Fwah.
I want my flawless skin back!! *wails*

Bling Bling.
On to happier healthy things,
I realized yesterday that I actually like jewellery. When I was in my prepubescent teens, I never understood the craze my friends had for Bits and Pieces and Perlini silver. IMHO, the stuff they sell there were downright ugly. The only time I went there was to find presents for friends.
I thought I wasn't girl enough to like jewellery.
Yesterday, I realized I do like jewellery. They are so beautiful. Its just that the stuff at Bits and Pieces and Perlini Silver are so ugly.
See isn't this so lovely.
Jewellery cannot be given by anyone. Something worn so close to you has to be special.
I have been wearing this diamond necklace my mum gave me on my 18th birthday. Its a small diamond, and not the least bit eye-striking but I have been wearing it everyday. I only take it out when I go swimming. Once, I lost the diamond when I neglected to hook it properly. I went into a frenzy but found the diamond eventually.
Ok, I think I need to stop blogging. The effects of panadol are wearing out and my brain is collapsing. Till I feel better. Meanwhile, I love blings blings!

My Xmas Wish List
I maintain that I am a simple person who really doesn't yearn for any single item, just give me a pool and swimming suits and I be the happiest person on earth.
Nevertheless, my wish list goes:
- I want a new pc with a big lcd screen. The lcd screen should be big and mounted on the wall. I will have wireless keyboard and mouse, so that I can surf and chat while lazing in bed. Throw in B&O sound system too please.
- PS2 and Xbox and N-gage. I do not game much. I played Crimson skies briefly and I kept crashing and I seemed unable to dodge the bullets. Nevertheless, I would be the envy of many because I have all the gaming platforms. I would then be more attractive to guys.
- Colorful bedsheets. They must be like a thousand thread count. Colorful bedsheets are important because they ensure sweet dreams. However, most colorful bedsheets are damn obiang. Its tough choosing the perfect bedsheet.
- A palmtop. I want the one with the fastest processor, highest memory, brightest display, chicest design. Then, I will be able to play bejeweled wherever I go.
- A king size bed. I want to be able to roll and turn in bed.
- A bigger room to fit my king size bed.
- To strike toto. I will then quit my job and learn how to grow my money. Working is just not me. I'm a Sunday child.
- Have cable in my room. I used to have cable in my room until my dad switched to Digital cable. He has since not wired cable into my room and I am limited to Ch5 only. I don't watch the mandarin channels anyhow. I want to be able to watch SATC in my room instead of in the hall. It is embarrassing when your parents are around when Samantha is shagging some guy. While we are on the topic, NO, I do not want a dildo. Lef keeps insisting I need one.
- Dobby. I need dobbies to clean up after me. My room is constantly in a mess that I gave up trying to tidy it. Where have all the house-elves gone? *sings to the tune of where have all the cowboys gone*
Xmas xmas xmas.....oh..did I mention, my bday is very close to xmas too.

Foul Week
I had not had a good week. In fact, I had the worst week of my life thus far.
My dad had a heart attack and was hospitalized. He was in ICU with all the drips and was hooked up to a monitoring system. I spent four nights there. They only allowed this one miserable cold hard chair in ICU, this explains my backache. My back is still sore. Fuck. yadar yadar yadar...do not want to elaborate in my foul mood.
Had a depressing week at work. Although it was only a 4 day week at work, I had no drive and motivation. Totally low morale and time crawled. It was miserable. Fuck
Was looking forward to meeting Dung but as usual he has so much work. I went home today knowing that I will die and rot in the office if I stayed there. He called me at 8 to say that he was leaving his office and was washing up. Already I was getting pissed, but nm. I am magnanimous.
8.30pm. Some blardy thingy went into my left eye making it all red and uncomfortable. I looked like the one red eye pirate. I had all this pent up energy in me. My eye still hurts. Fuck.
9pm, he called and said he just left. Fuck. 1 whole hour. 9pm. By the time he meets me, it will be 9.30pm, and we will land up with nowhere to go and nothing to eat. He will then be dead tired and sleep in my carpark. So, I said in a rather pissed tone, "Why not you just go home?". You know what, he AGREED but added he will go eat. So I asked where, and he said he was going Ikea to eat. Fuck. Firstly, regardless of what I said, his reaction should still to be to meet me. Secondly, how can he go Ikea without me. Fuck Fuck Fuck. I am so pissed.
I soften and asked him to meet me, he then told me that he had turned into AYE. Fuck. How can anyone make a turn so fast. Fuck.
930pm, I msged him, "I am very mang zhang. Was looking forward to meeting you. Fuck". No reply. Again, incorrect response.
In summary, I had a terrible week. Also, there are only 5 people online on my icq list now, it serves only to further jeer me. Fuck.

S Idol
It is now the half hour break before the nation crowns Singapore Idol.
My Malay colleagues have said that they will wear a paper bag over their heads if Sly wins.
Much as I like to see the big brown bag, I have to say Taufik is the better one.
Sly irritated the hell out of me. I cannot hear what he is singing. His words are all either mashed up or mispronounced. Totally irksome.
I may not speak Queen's English but Sly said "I saw it flew", in his defense when a stray light stick whizzed past the Judge's table.
I cringed. Its "I saw it fly, fly fly, not flew"
I repeat, Sly irritates me.
Then again, I will not vote. It is still imho a waste of money. I rather buy 4D.
Mediacorp artiste are terrible too. With the exception of a few, none of them refuse to reveal who they are rooting for when interviewed. This is crap. It is not as if you will lose fans if you pick either contestant. Come on, where's all the self confidence? I just feel like bashing their heads against a freshly painted wall when they sit on the fence. Grrr...
*************************************
Because blogger server is still down. Taufik is now Singapore Idol!!!!
I am so happy!!!
Except that moment that he passed the mike to Sly to sing his first single. Stupid boy, your fans voted for you, they want to hear you and you pass the mike to Sly. This is not the time to be sporting. Whatever.
I am so glad I will hear Taufik on radio. Yeah!

My oh My oh My Boooo
Have not blogged in a while.
Been in a slight depression. I was thinking that it would be yet another passing phase, but I plummeted deeper n deeper into Modor.
Its too lengthy to retell the tale, but the summary is
- I feel directionless
- I do not really know what I am doing
- I do not know what I want to do.
I came up with a few action items. I whined to a few people online and they probably know what they are. I cannot explicitly express myself, because I suspect more people are reading this that I know. Enough about ssh-shhh.
On a happier note, I decided I will learn how to use codecharge. I have been very lazy and thus unsuccessful. I will start in December. Tomorrow is December. So far, my only accomplishment is that I managed to find IIS on XP and now have a web server for publishing.
Also, I had lunch with Ben today. . Ben now has a red vios. It is an awful red. Its the splat red kinda of red. Take Nippon paint red and splash it all over your car. Ugly. I like red cars, but Ben's red was lackluster.
Lunch with an old friend is always good, you hurl profanities at each other knowing no one really minds. You condemn the same kind(race) of people, you have the same taste in food, you speak the same language.
Five things I learnt
- being vegetarian will make you less desirable to the opposite sex. My cousin is having second thoughts about a girl after he learnt of her diet.
- giving blowjobs will ultimately get you what you want. Read Candace Bushnell's Trading Up for more details
- N-gade QD has 8 in 1 pirated games in MMC cards. This rocks, because a single game cartridge costs around $60.
- I actually like Alicia Keys and Usher's My Boo quite a bit. I foresee my next song will be Britney Spears' Santa can you hear me..
- Boo originated from the French word 'Beau', it got mispronounced along the way and now is my oh my oh my boooo.

My Theory
As I roused myself in bed on a cold early Monday morning, a singular question raced through my head - "Why do I have to wake up to go work? Why do I have to work?"
I was thoroughly unhappy as I peeled myself from the bed, it was then I formulated my theory.
I had just realized a day ago that I was born on a Sunday. I was checking my users details on ICQ when I found out. I had always wanted to know which day of it week it was when I was born and now the mystery was finally solved.
I conjured in my little head that since I was born on a Sunday , I was not meant for work. Sundays are days of rest and only losers work Sunday. The rest of the world rest. So, since I was born on a Sunday, I figured that I was never meant for work. I got a little happier as I thought about it.
Psychoedd came online later in the day and I amused her with my theory. I think she must have dismissed it as yet another one of my weird ideas. Nevertheless, she checked and she was born on a Wednesday, middle of the week. I figured that like the day, people born on Wednesday just work, its neither a good or bad thing.
We then concluded that if you are born on a Sunday and it happens to be a public holiday, you would be blessed for life.
When two girls chat, the topic inevitably switches to guys. I told her that Sunday guys are not good because they are probably as nua as me. Friday guys are bad too cos all they think of will be to party, they would probably be flirtaous too. Monday guys have to work very hard because Mondays are the start of a long grueling work week.
It would be preferential to pick a Monday guy over a Sunday/Friday guy. Come on, who wants a useless guy.
Psychoeed got curious and asked which day Dung was born. I had no idea and she checked for me. Turns out he is a Monday guy. In Psychoeed's own words, "you are SO freaking accurate". No wonder Dung works 24/7. This explains it all.
Of course I told Dung. I think he has heard enough of my bizarre theories and has perfected the skill of indulging me before dismissing me. *goes giddy with joy*

The Incredibles
It must have been 2 gazillions years since I last watched a movie on a Weekday.
I want to be a superhero!! Why aren't my parents superheroes in disguise?
I might then be able to run/swim very very fast. I can even disappear into oblivion whenever I feel like it.
I love The Incredibles. Disney finally got it right after their lackluster performance from the last few movies.
The Incredibles is fantastic. It beats Shark Tales hollow. Renee Zellweger and especially Will Smith's voice irritated me big time throughout the show.
There is Mr Incredible, a superhero who has incredulous strength. He uses cars and trains instead of dumbbells to build up muscles. His wife, Mrs Incredible aka Elasticgirl, is superhero too. She is like plastacine. She can mould herself into any shape, fit into grooves and stretch her body a mile long.
Of course, they have super hero kids. There is Violet, Dash and Jack-jack. Violet can disappear as and when she likes. She also can create this ball of force that shields everyone from bullets, explosions and all things straying into her path. Dash runs very very fast. So fast that his movements cannot be caught on tape. Jack-jack is only an infant, but has exhibited powers of fire.
Ain't that the coolest family ever?
I shall stop before I spoil the movie for everyone else.
I give it 20 outta 10. Go watch!

Lef :okok
C :hahha...sure or not....
C :u say write then i write lor...........
Lef :wahaha
C :hahahaha......good good
and Lef wrote about me!!!!!
I am pretty sure he got into a lot of trouble with his other gfs with that entry.
Waaaa, most of the time, you can classify guys into a few categories (see one of my earlier post). They are either Bastards, Sore Losers, CMI, Try to hard, the list goes on. Lef is one of the very few who fits neither here nor there. You would have to create a special category for him.
When he shows me his photoalbum, he always takes photos with pretty girls. His convocation pictures are all with pretty girls. I am forever amazed how he finds all the pretty girls. I think he makes Kpoh and Des jealous. It is easy for a stranger to mistake him for a superficial creep but the truth is, he enjoys a unique and treasured relationship with each of this girls.
I have enjoyed a tremendous friendship with Lef. He gives me presents every year on my birthday without fail!! He has presented me with a telescope (I am still slightly awed by the magnitude of that gesture, although he claims that he went on a shopping spree because he was depressed).
During my first year in boring engineering school, Lef helped me with Graphics the whole semester. To those unfamiliar with graphics, it is this irritating module where they make you draw on isometric paper. They give you weird instructions and you are expected to follow. Sometimes, you are required to draw things from plane view, side view, whatever. As the semester progressed, things become weirder and they tell you that you have to draw blocks, sphere, triangles at precise coordinates, worse still, these structures intersect each other.
I hated graphics and sucked at it. Lef, on the other hand, aced graphics. Lef helped me with graphics week after week tirelessly. The point to note is that I did not bug and leeched onto Lef for help. He sought me out week after week to ask if I needed help, all the way until the final paper. I remembered he even insisted that I meet him a few days before the finals to make sure I was ok. I eventually scored a B+ for graphics and that would definitely would not be possible without Lef.
About Lef (in the same copied format)
1. Lef uses a very strong scented shower foam. Shucks, I momentarily forgot the brand
2. Lef has like 10 million guitars
3. Lef likes comics
4. Lef is always on ICQ
5. Lef's house is very big but has cracks on the wall
6. Lef smses everyone Good Morning, he goes "hi babe, good morning and ....". He words the sms as if he is smsing you, but he in actual fact is mass-smsing everyone.
7. As a result, Lef sms bills skyrockets.
8. Lef loses his handphone all the time.
9. Lef gives me the impression he eats a lot of MacDonald's.
10. Lef has been a wonderful friend, and will be. He is fantabulous although I wish he would take more than 3 minutes to bath. Grosskid.

My Inspiration
*waits for reaction*
Well, before you pass any judgment. Let me include the fact that his $600 a month covers his $300 rent.
Do the math, and he only spends $300 a month.
Shocked?
He lives alone, has to buy groceries, toiletries, food, everything to sum it up , and he spends only 600-300=300 a month.
Woa. I easily spend $600 a month and I do not need to pay rent, or buy daily necessities. He is good.
I can't seem to understand why all my money went. Except for a few pairs of shoes, I think I indulged too much in food. It is an irony in itself because I actually hate eating. I eat only because I have to.
Then again, the counter argument is that I have been eating good these days. I dine so often at crystal jade that I know exactly what I want to eat before I reach the outlet.I used up all my UOB dining privileges too.
That layer of bubble forming around my waist must be my punishment.
My colleague in turns eats only vegetables. He is not vegetarian but all he orders for lunch is rice with 3 different type of greens. He claims that he wants to be healthy and that meat makes his stomach churn. Veggies with rice is also the cheapest combination ever. I secretly think that he would be eating all meat if meat were cheaper than veggies.
For dinner, he boils corn and veggies. For all the lack of meat in his diet, he is a 1.85m tall strapping guy. Very lean and with a extremely nice butt. His butt is very toned. I used to watch him swim when we were in school and my my my, he is eye candy. *drools*
I have crowned him MY INSPIRATION.
Now all I have to do is to start eating my greens(puke), stop eating at crystal jade, stop buying ice cream to eat, stop using food vouchers, stop eating desserts after dinner, stop buying bubble tea to drink, I might actually match his spending.

Amazing Race
Take for example, old grandparents who vehemently believe they can win the race. Ohmygesh, oh pul-sease, It is impossible. You need a combination of luck, wit and strength to win the race. Stop daydreaming about the million dollar cash prize, you should have worked harder when you had the vigor.
Example number 2, father and daughter team. Again its about strength, poor old daddy will never make it. Unless you fathered your child when you were a minor, why not just watch the race from the comforts of your home.
Example number 3, couples who claim they want to build their relationship. Ok, so these people do at least have some chance of running the race decently. However, they usually land up screaming at each other half the time because they cannot read the map, the do stupid things like filling petrol into a diesel tank(happens every season), they jump at the chance to blame each other etc. They blame each other too quickly.
I am always amazed at the rubbish these Americans say, how they think so highly of themselves, how they all think they will win the race.
At first you think, woa, confident people. After some time, I think there people just do not know their limits. Thus, the cliché ,"Empty vessels make the most noise"
You see the fire and aggressiveness in their eyes, but really after 5 seasons, I know better and I scoff at them.

*clutches throat and bangs head on wall*
I happily picked up my phone cos it is the first foreign number since I switched to free incoming.
Turns out to be vivace's husband to be, and suprise suprise, he is a financer planner. Argk.
I know vivace first, and even then, I am not even close to her. Much less the guy. Argk.
Anyway, he is not that fluent a talker, cos he spoke to me the 3 times I absent mindedly picked up the phone and he has yet to introduce himself as a financer planner. Whatever.
My nose is still leaking and my throat is still sore. Dorithricin like all other Western medicine is a scam.
Anyhow, in my wrecked state, I am going to meet Dung. Dung flared up at me yesterday for no good reason other then that he was pissed and irritated and I think he is trying to make up for it.
Argk
I ought to be delighted for such a break but somehow I am feeling different,
My head's throbbing because I slept too much. It feels like its going to explode. My throat is in agony cos I drank too little water on Saturday, yes, my throat is that sensitive.
Argk, feeling very lousy.

I am dumb
Waaaa....sobsob...
I did this test and my score is only 110. Asendoh scored 114. To make sure the test is not a fluke, I retook it but clicked A for all 39qns. It churned out a score of 80. 80 is an idiot's score. So, there is some basis in this test after all.
I went to the mensa webpage to see what 100 meant. It only meant that I was at the 50% percentile of the population. I feel so blardy dumb. There must be a lot of retards out there, and for that matter of fact, a whole lot of geniuses. I am so sad.
Not yet totally convinced, I went to this site, directed from the mensa website. I scored 24. Again, asendoh beat me by scoring 26. He is officially smarter than me. The canned msg churned was
"Thank you for trying Mensa Italia Preliminary Test! You answered correctly to 24 questions out of 33, therefore youhave good possibilities to succeed the actual Mensa test"
Another link later gave this table
Correct answers 33 32 31 30 29 28 27 26 25 24 less than 24
Probability 95% 95% 90% 85% 80% 75% 70% 65% 60% 50% very few
So, I only have a 50% chance of getting to mensa. This totally concurs with the result of the first test. Not that I want to get into mensa, but the grim reality bites.
In my weak defense, my parents were constantly nagging at me to hang the clothes while I did the test. Sigh. Whatever.
I am utterly sad. Only 50% percentile. Now, I will stop sprouting rubbish and stop insulting Neanderthals, for some time at least till i find some way of rebuking mensa. Sob Sob.

M1 again -its getting boring
So, today's the day my dad goes down to M1 to transfer his line. It is the last time his pesky daughter has to bother him over trivial little things like mobile line.
I went to M1 on the first floor, there was this botak guy bouncing around with a brochure in his hands. For the whole 30 minutes I was there, I couldn't figure out what his job function was. I presumed he was positioned there to assist customers in a bid to shorten waiting time, but all he did was to bounce from place to place like a half deflated balloon.
My Q number was 3117, it was 3111 when I received my number. Good, only 6 more to go, less time before hungry dad gets cranky because he has to wait. Well, turns out it took 30 minutes to get from 1 to 7.
Just as it was my turn to be serviced, the lady gave me a blank look, after explaining to her my case and asking her to pull up my records, she asked me, "so which handset are you upgrading to?"
Fwah. Turns out M1 not only hires inefficient staff, they hire deafs as well. I immediately switched to my throw-tantrum mode and blasted at her. Still, Patricia stared at me blankly.
Slowly, she seemed to understand and told me I had to go to level 2 customer service instead. So so so dumb. Of course I made a bigger fuss. I told Patricia that I wanted to be serviced immediately when i was at level 2. I didn't want to have to Q again. Patricia said no no no no , gave me crap reasons. I persisted and she disappeared into the room behind. She resurfaced later and told me I can go upstairs.
Seriously, the people at the booths for upgrading are terrible. They are like the one class higher version of the ah-bengs and lians touting used phones in neighborhood centers. Even with their orange uniforms on, they still look the same.
I went upstairs. The people upstairs were much nicer. Rosalind was nice although she too had to disappear into that little room. She told me at first that I would not be able to retain my Oki-Flex plan, that was not what Iris promised me. Rosalind disappeared once again. Later, she told me I could keep my plan but nicely asked me if I wanted to change my plan. I learnt from her that I would not have to pay 3months of caller ID if I switched to V100, so I switched.
I am now on free incoming, 100minutes free outgoing which in actual facts only translates to 50 mins free outgoing during peak hours and no sms. Its only $18.90. I figured that since no one calls me, and I call no one. This would be the best plan.
My mum gave me a sorrowful look and teased me endlessly when I told her no one calls me. Ok, so now that I am not entitled to free sms, unless you are a Singtel and Starhub user, you can almost forget about me replying your sms. Call me instead. I still do not understand why there is not free sms website for M1. Yet another silly M1 thingy.
Gosh, I hate that so many of my blog entries are about this M1 saga. Its terribly boring. I hope this is the end of it. Lets hope M1 keeps to its word when I get the bill later in the month.

Turns out that Irene is on maternity leave so Iris called. Whats up with I-names, although i-pod is absolutely cool. The new i-photo is even better, although it has less of a practical function imho.
Well, M1 says that they will keep my 45% discount for a year before reverting back to the discount scheme as if I were a new customer, 35%. I think its crap. Either way, I will just get the name changed and see how things go later. I think their computer system will not be smart enough to remember the change, else I will jus change price plan.
Now, the tough part, convincing my dad to visit M1.
I'm dead beat. I went bowling today. Wait, I am dead beat because I had a long day and not because I went bowling. I reread the flow of sentences and realized that I would appear horrifically loser if I were tired because I went to bowl.
Back to bowling, it was appalling. I have not bowled in years. I used to bowl regularly when Ben was in AC's bowling team. He would constantly make us bowl. Thankfully, he weaned out of it.
Then he was hooked to billiards and snooker, and we went ever so often. Till this day, I am still slightly fearful of those ever so forbidding Chinese gods at the entrance of the cigarette filled, dimly lilted underground places. Ben now has a gf, so he spends all his time humping like jackrabbits so he now only looks us up occasionally. Enough about Ben.
Methinks me wants to sleep. Nights

1. Chinese pop music. Just how many 5566s , Jay Chou, Ou De Yang, F4s can you have.
Although I have to admit that Dao Ming Si is pretty cute. I reword, Dao Ming Si is pretty cute only in meteor gardens. I turned into this pussy during some heart wrenching episodes. Yes yes, I can hear you all murmuring to yourselves and condemning me to damnation.
I cringe when chinese pop is blasting from the radio sets in the taxis that I sit. Good thing it only takes 50 minutes max to travel from Jurong to Changi.
Oh, Jamie Yeo pisses me off too, and while we are on it, Glenn Ong is no better. What a match! I used to enjoy the Late night show with Glenn, I even emailed dedications hoping they will be read. Once it was and I whopped in delight.
Now, Glenn irresponsibility sprouts rubbish on air whilst claiming that he has the freedom to aire his views. Oh pulease, with the power of media in your hands, you are influential. I hope Glenn gets fired like Shiek Haikel.
2. Smell. I hate the smell of certain spices, especially those the Malays and Indians use in their food. Ouch. My noses twitches the whole during my malay colleagues eat in.
I rather have Dung fart in my face.
I detest the smell of cigarette smoke too. How can anyone get addicted to something that smells so foul? Worse, add the smell of cigarette smoke to the spices and its a double whammy.
3. 3 ply tissue. Its a waste of material. Because it is so thick, my lips always feel slightly bruised.
So, take out 1 ply and use only 2 ply you say? But what do you do with the remaining 1 ply? I hate it when my mum rips off the 1 ply to give me when I ask for tissue. The 1 ply is too useless for anything.
3 ply tissues are only good for cleaning you arse after a good shit.
4. Relatives. My relatives are like the uncles and aunties in the market.
They all act like they know better how to discipline you and have to add in their two cents worth. They think I will listen to them when I do not heed my parents. They act like they have the power to talk sense into me.
Wake up, if I do not agree with my parents on certain issues, you no-value-to-me relatives will not succeed either. Fwah.
5. Malay guy with phone number 91599579. Please spam him with calls and sms. Your call.
He has been calling and sms-ing me in malay. Its always the "Sayang I miss you, Saya cinta padamu Amy, " and other gibberish malay. The girl in question Amy seems to be spurning him, then again, all his msgs go to me not Amy.
I have rudely screamed at him, sms-ed him my limited malay, which equates to 'awak bodoh machiam barbi, saya amy ta, berhenti sms saya'. My malay not bad eh. Actually if you notice, they are simple words that I learned off signboards and pieced them together. Its like doing zhao ju.
Still, malay guy keeps calling and sms-ing. I even got my malay colleague to scold him, and yet he continues to sms me immediately after.
I hope amy leaves him. Dumbass.
6. Having to shit and realizing that your mum is bathing and would take another 10 minutes. Coupled with the fact that your parents think that one storeroom is not enough to keep junk and have to convert the other bathroom into a storeroom.
That is the dumbest thing ever. My mum is convinced that if we use the toilet in her room, all the urine and shit atoms will surface and float around the room.
7.M1 for obvious reasons. They have yet to get back to me after requesting for my patience. It has been 2 days. I decided my PATIENCE lasts 7 days.
Getting short-fused these days. I guess it happens as you age.

It is obviously a canned reply. Its funny how I wrote to Irene , Assistant Manager, and Nuryusman replies. I suspect my email was intercepted along the way by the mail handler or perhaps Irene too does not value me as a customer.
You think M1 will reply me positively? I think they are toying me around their little finger.

M1 is pissing me off
I finally wrote in to complain to M1 yesterday. My mobile line has been under my Dad's name. I was not 18 at the time of registration then and did not want to have to pay the silly $50 deposit. I have been wanting to have it changed so that I own the line.
However, M1 adamantly insisted that I would lose all my loyalty discount and perk points if I do so. Seriously, I care nuts about perk points. Its a scam because they are never enough to change for anything. Loyalty discount is a different matter, it shaves a substantial enough amount off my bill.
I composed my email and sent it off. Today, a Mr. Nuryusman called me and after wasting 5 mins of my talktime, informed me that he could not do anything. I supposed it is one of M1 ploys to add talktime into your phone bill. Foreseeing that I would probably be at work and thus inconvenient for me to answer calls, I had clearly stated in the complaint form that my preferred mode of communication was via email.
Anyhow, what Nuryusman did was to repeat "I understand, but there is nothing we can do" for 5 minutes. Hey, I did not submit a complaint to have someone who is not empowered be the punching bag of my grouses. I want action. I blatantly told Nuryusman that I would have no qualms about changing to another mobile operator and he told me there was still nothing he can do.
I was incensed. I mean, I do not even feel valued. I have been with M1 for 7 fucking years, despite the fact that Singtel obviously is the better service provider. I knew Nuryusman could not do much so I decided to send in another complain email when I got home.
Well, M1 beat me to it, Assistant Customer Service Manager sent me a survey rate requesting I rate Nuryusman's level of service. It was a fill in the blanks survey, I did not fill in the blank but instead wrote an email back. This is what I wrote:
Hi Irene,
Nuryusman was courteous and pleasant over the phone. However, I wished that your customer service representatives are more empowered. I have written in to complain about my dissatisfaction on some of M1 policies.I am a user of a M1 mobile line.
The line is registered under my dad's name because I was not 18 at the time of purchase. I am 24 now. Having the line under my dad's name has posed much inconvenience to the both of us. I could not upgrade/make changes to services and plans. A letter of authorization will not suffice and my dad has to go down to M1 personally before I can upgrade my handset. It is frustrating.
Nuryusman has given me options, all of which I have considered prior to writing my first complain letter. None of which is enticing. What I am requesting is for M1 is a change in subscriber name. I want to own the line, without losing discounts and perks points.M1 does not allow me to do so. I have made it clear to M1 that I would have no qualms about switching to another mobile operator once my contract period is up. Still, M1 insisted that there was nothing they can do.
I am aghast at M1's response. It did not make me feel that M1 values me as a customer. This is the same response I get from other M1 staff. In fact, this happens everytime I want to upgrade my handset without my dad's presence.Price plans among different operators have been very competitive, I would think that one has to value customers to keep them with you.
I am still requesting for the change in subscriber's name. Irene, I am hoping that you can accede to my request. If not, please refer me to someone more appropriate. Having to wrestle with M1 over my request is tiring, and it is making me lose faith in M1.
Regards
Cindy
I have a nudging feeling nothing with happen. I hate to be ignored. Rest assured I will complain all the way up. I wonder just how arduous the process will be. It is only a matter of time that I join Singtel.
